New Zealand Syrah Symposium

Corbans Viticulture is proud to continue its ongoing support for the Syrah Symposium. The inaugural event, held in 2007 attracted a top of line up of international speakers and the 2010 event will be no different!

The Symposium will cover technical research, New Zealand and Australian case studies from leading winemakers as well as featured speakers who will give an in depth international perspective on this Rhone variety. The program is completed by four tastings of Syrahs from The Rhone, Australia, New Zealand and a comparative tasting of Syrah from New Zealand and the rest of the wold.

Guest international speakers include Tim Atkin, Dan Buckle, James Halliday, John Livingstone-Learmonth, Simon Tam and Dr Kees van Leeuwen.

New Zealand Cabernet Merlot Forum

The second New Zealand Cabernet Merlot Forum will be held prior to the Syrah Symposium on 29th January. This forum will focus on case studies, technical research and panel discussions alongside a number of comprehensive tastings of Cabernet Merlot from around the world. Varieties that will be discussed include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and blends.
